Group Volunteer Opportunities

Looking for a meaningful team outing or group experience?

At Jack’s Basket, your group won’t just volunteer; you’ll assemble baskets of gifts and resources for families welcoming a baby with Down syndrome. The time you spend volunteering will have a real impact on these families, helping to change their story from the very beginning.

What Your Group Will Do

In just two hours, your team will:

  • Build and assemble baskets for families
  • Hear the mission and impact behind the work
  • Work side-by-side in a fun, guided experience
  • Leave knowing exactly who you helped and why it matters

Frequently Asked Questions

Volunteer experiences are designed for groups of 8–30 participants.

Private Group Basket Assembly Experiences are recommended for groups of 15–30 participants and are reserved exclusively for your organization or team.

Shared Group Basket Assembly Experiences are ideal for smaller groups of at least 8 participants and may include multiple groups participating together during the same session, with a maximum of 30 volunteers in the space at one time.

Most group experiences last about 2 hours.

This time includes:

  • A brief welcome and introduction
  • Time to learn about the impact of Jack’s Basket
  • Hands-on basket building
  • Closing reflections and optional group photos

There is no cost to participate, though donations are encouraged to help support the baskets your group will build and the ongoing mission of Jack’s Basket.

Groups participating in private experiences are invited to consider a suggested donation of $1,500 per experience. Shared groups are also encouraged to contribute in a way that is meaningful and manageable for their organization.

Each basket includes approximately $150 worth of gifts and resources for families welcoming a baby with Down syndrome.

If cost is a barrier, please reach out, we’d still love to explore ways to partner with your group.

Please wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes.

Most of the basket-building experience is active and on your feet, but accommodations are available for anyone who may need seating or additional support. Just let us know ahead of time so we can prepare.

Volunteers must be at least 10 years old to participate.

Ages 10–15 must attend with an adult chaperone.

Ages 16–17 may participate without a chaperone, as long as they have a signed parent/guardian consent form.

All volunteers under 18 will need a completed consent form prior to participating.

All group volunteer experiences take place at Jack’s Basket Headquarters:

1170 Red Fox Road

Arden Hills, MN 55112

Free parking is available onsite, and signs will direct you when you arrive.

Once you reserve your date, we’ll send everything you need to prepare your group, including:

  • Confirmation details
  • Any required forms
  • Arrival instructions
  • Final reminders before your experience

Our team handles the logistics, so your group can simply show up ready to serve.

If you select a Private Group Experience, in many cases, we can customize the experience to your needs. Please reach out to volunteer@jacksbasket.org to discuss your goals, and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

We understand plans can change. Contact us as soon as possible, and we’ll do our best to accommodate another date.

Not at all! Our team will guide your group through the entire experience, and no special skills or preparation are required.
