Torvi, You Make Me Better
Torvi Rose has made me a better person, parent, and healthcare provider. She has taught me to find the beauty in unexpected things. Her pure joy is something our family treasures. She helps us to focus on things that genuinely matter. I have the interesting position of being a parent to a child with Down syndrome, as well as a provider who delivers babies (and sometimes shares news about them). Jack’s Basket really helped me during my high-risk pregnancy and made Torvi’s life feel welcomed and celebrated in a time that was often plagued with worry. Through all of this, I have also learned how valuable it is to find improved ways to communicate with my patients about Down syndrome and other kinds of unexpected news.
