Jack’s Basket Celebrates 15,000 Babies
Jack’s Basket celebrated an exciting milestone recently: 15,000 babies celebrated! The 15,000th basket was delivered to Penelope, born October 28, 2026, in Pennsylvania.
Requested on behalf of her family by a medical provider, Penelope’s basket was personally delivered by Lauren Talhelm, Jack’s Basket Medical Education Coordinator and volunteer Basket Delivery Parent.
For Penelope’s family, the basket represented more than a collection of gifts. It was a reminder that they were surrounded by a community ready to welcome, encourage, and celebrate their daughter.
“We are so thankful to find support,” Penelope’s parents shared. “When you are going through a new journey, it is such a blessing to have resources, and it means the world to us to have our daughter be so well loved by many, including organizations like yours.”
Their words reflect the heart of Jack’s Basket’s mission: ensuring families welcoming a baby with Down syndrome feel celebrated, supported, and connected from the very beginning.
“Fifteen thousand babies. Fifteen thousand reasons to celebrate,” said Carissa Carroll, founder and CEO of Jack’s Basket. “What began with one basket has grown into a movement of hope and connection. Every basket represents a family who deserves to feel supported and a baby who deserves to be celebrated. Penelope’s story is a beautiful reminder of why this work matters.” Read more about Carissa’s reflections on this milestone here.
Penelope, you make us better! Here’s to the next 15,000 babies.
