Mara, You Make Me Better
Receiving Mara’s prenatal Down syndrome diagnosis was extremely emotional and hard for us. It came with a stage of grief, then a long stage of worry before her arrival. We worried about what life would look like and be like with a child with special needs. But the moment we heard her cry and heard our physician say “she’s perfect”, the fear and worry (ok, most of it haha!) melted away and turned to joy. Mara has taught us the true meaning of faith and that the path intended for us will always be better than what we could have planned for ourselves. Being included in The Lucky Few is the best thing we never knew we wanted to be a part of.
