Aspyn, You Make Me Better
When I was 12 weeks pregnant with twins, we were told one or both of our girls could have Down syndrome. I remember the fear, the questions, and all the unknowns that rushed through my mind. As a mom, you just want everything to be okay for your baby. When the diagnosis was confirmed, all I could think about was how I didn’t want to change her; I wanted to change the world and how they would view her.
The moment she was born, I saw her face and cried happy tears. In that moment, all the worries I had disappeared. She wasn’t a diagnosis. She was my daughter. Perfectly, wonderfully made exactly how God intended. God didn’t make a mistake with her. He trusted me with her. And if there’s one thing I know, it’s that she has already filled our lives with more love than I ever could have imagined.
