Nora, You Make Me Better
When Nora was born, we were told shortly after that she had Down syndrome. I remember asking if she would live and then crying . . . a lot. I prayed, cried, and begged God to let the test be wrong. However, I now realize how silly that was.
Nora has grown and developed so much in the past two years of her life. Now, I could not imagine wanting her to be “typical”. I truly thank God for allowing me to be her mom. She is the light of the room and can make anyone smile. She waves at everyone she sees, and likes to explore anything she can. She loves blowing kisses, giving hugs, and chasing her kitty. Nora will tell all her friends a whole story, that we usually cannot understand, but she is serious about what she is saying and we all love it!
When Nora was first born, I was scared to death, not knowing her future or how we would handle this, but it has been the biggest blessing. Nora Jo and her sister are the best of friends, and I love watching them grow and learn together. She has made our whole entire family better, and I would not change her for the world!
